Basic Conduct Policy
You agree, through your use of Malkavia BBS, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, unethical material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
You also agree to respect the copyrighted material of others. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on Malkavia BBS. Certain types of advertising might be allowed in a restricted capacity (ie: BBS Ads, Echomail Network Ads, Non-Profit Ads, Profile URLs in Sigantures, etc) depending on the particular rules of a Local Forum or Syndicated Echo.
Indemnification
Note that it is impossible for the Sysop (System Operator) of Malkavia BBS to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this BBS, its staff, its subsidiaries, or the Sysop, Time Warrior. This clause covers every area of Malkavia BBS including but not limited to our Public File Libraries.
Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify a Sysop, Echomail Network Coordinator or Moderator of the BBS, Sub or Echonet immediately. The staff here at Malkavia BBS reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Sysop of Malkavia BBS, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries.
Networked Echomail Areas
Also note that some Echomail Networks (including but not limited to the possibilities of Xpresit Net, DoveNet, Fidonet, Usenet Newsgroups and many others) may have rules and policy which directly conflict with the rules of Malkavia BBS. Despite the obvious contradiction -- we are a guest in their house and not the other way around. The rules of whatever Echomail Network you are posting in must be respected even if they conflict with the local rules here on Malkavia BBS
Inter-BBS Games (Telnet / RPG / MUD / GameServs)
Our Games Section is accessable via telnet:

Duplicate Accounts for IBBS Games is considered to be CHEATING and is a very good way to get yourself BANNED from Malkavia BBS. We do not tollerate cheaters here.
We may also elect at any point in time -- with or without warning -- to link into external GameServs, Muds or other Text-Based MMORG Games. We retain zero liability for what happens on an external site and vice versa.
Public File Areas (FTP / TELNET / HTTP)
Our File Areas are available via Telnet (SEXYZ / Z-Modem), FTP and HTTP. We have no ratios. Do not abuse this. Please do not upload warez, virii, spyware, porn or anything illegal / unethical. We run a clean service and we'd like to keep it that way. Please report any damning files to Time Warrior.
IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
Please respect the Users, Room Sysops and IRCopers. Treat others as you would wish to be treated. Use common sense. Our chat is available using an IRC Client Software, PJIRC (www) as well as via Telnet.
POP3 / SMTP / NNTP
Our forums are available via E-Mail Listserv as well as RSS. Malkavia BBS provides you with a Free E-Mail Inbox. You may use our POP3 Server if you are using Thunderbird, Outlook Express or something similar.
You can not relay off of our SMTP. Please use the one that your ISP has provided you with. Forums are also accessable via NNTP if you happen to use Xnews, Thunderbird, Outlook Express or something similar. Please do not abuse this access.
Creating An Account / Privacy
The Sysop of Malkavia BBS who happens to be Time Warrior -- reserves the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this BBS.
You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username (otherwise known as a handle, alias, nick or screen name). We advise that you keep the name appropriate as well as creative. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except the Sysop, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. Your username may contain space charicters, where as most sites do not allow this.
After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.
Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer. Clearing your browser cache will render you signed out of the BBS. The Bulletin Board System itself has absolutely no way of actually knowing who is signed in or not. It takes your browser at its word about this.
